Pak’s Fanatical Mindset is Well Known: India on Pak’s Reference to J&K at UN
In a scathing rebuttal to Pakistan’s reference to Jammu and Kashmir at the United Nations General Assembly, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Parvathaneni Harish, on Wednesday, criticized Pakistan’s former Foreign Secretary’s statement, calling it “unjustified”. Harish’s remarks came after the former Foreign Secretary of Pakistan, while addressing the General Assembly, made a reference to Jammu and Kashmir, claiming that the region’s “inalienable right to self-determination” was being denied.
In response, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Parvathaneni Harish, stated that Pakistan’s claims are “baseless” and “motivated by a desire to distract the international community from its own human rights abuses”. He also noted that Pakistan’s “frequent references” to Jammu and Kashmir will not validate its claim or justify its “practice of cross-border terrorism”.
Harish’s remarks were a clear reflection of India’s frustration with Pakistan’s continued attempts to internationalize the Kashmir issue and its failure to address the root causes of terrorism in the region. The Indian Permanent Representative to the UN also drew attention to the fact that Pakistan’s obsession with Jammu and Kashmir is a result of its own “fanatical mindset”, which has been well-documented in the past.
Pakistan’s reference to Jammu and Kashmir at the UN General Assembly was seen by many as an attempt to divert attention from its own human rights abuses and to internationalize the Kashmir issue. However, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Parvathaneni Harish, made it clear that Pakistan’s attempts to do so will not succeed.
“Pakistan’s frequent references to Jammu and Kashmir will not validate its claim or justify its practice of cross-border terrorism,” Harish said. “We reject Pakistan’s attempts to internationalize the issue and instead urge it to address the root causes of terrorism in the region,” he added.
India’s Permanent Representative to the UN also drew attention to the fact that Pakistan has failed to address the issue of terrorism in the region. “Pakistan’s failure to address the issue of terrorism in the region is a major concern for the international community,” Harish said. “We urge Pakistan to take concrete steps to address this issue and to work with the international community to combat terrorism,” he added.
Pakistan’s reference to Jammu and Kashmir at the UN General Assembly was also seen as an attempt to undermine India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. However, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Parvathaneni Harish, made it clear that Pakistan’s attempts to do so will not succeed.
“Pakistan’s attempts to undermine India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” Harish said. “We urge Pakistan to respect India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and to work with India to resolve the issue of Jammu and Kashmir through peaceful means,” he added.
In conclusion, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Parvathaneni Harish’s, remarks were a clear reflection of India’s frustration with Pakistan’s continued attempts to internationalize the Kashmir issue and its failure to address the root causes of terrorism in the region. Pakistan’s reference to Jammu and Kashmir at the UN General Assembly was seen by many as an attempt to divert attention from its own human rights abuses and to undermine India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. However, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN made it clear that Pakistan’s attempts to do so will not succeed.
