Game of hide & seek going on: AAP’s Sanjay on ED’s summon to Vadra
The ongoing investigation into the alleged land deal case involving Robert Vadra, the husband of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, has taken another turn with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoning him again on Tuesday. This latest development has sparked a fresh debate, with many questioning the timing and purpose of the summons.
Reacting to the ED’s move, AAP MP Sanjay Singh hinted that it might be a “game of hide and seek” being played out. In an interview, he said, “Sometimes action is taken in Vadra’s case and sometimes it is not… Let’s see what action ED takes based on documents they have.”
Sanjay’s remarks come at a time when the ED is under intense scrutiny for its handling of the case. Critics have accused the agency of being biased and selective in its approach, with some questioning the lack of action in other cases involving high-profile individuals.
The ED’s latest summons to Vadra is related to a land deal in Bikaner, Rajasthan, which allegedly involved fraudulent documents and forged signatures. The agency had earlier summoned Vadra in 2016, but the case had been pending due to various reasons, including Vadra’s refusal to cooperate and the ED’s lack of concrete evidence.
The latest summons has raised questions about the ED’s intentions and the timing of the move. Many have pointed out that the summoning of Vadra comes just weeks before the Assembly elections in Rajasthan, which is due to take place in December. Some have speculated that the ED’s move might be an attempt to influence the election outcome, while others have suggested that it could be a ploy to deflect attention from other controversies.
The Congress party has strongly condemned the ED’s summons, calling it a “politically motivated” move designed to harass Vadra and his family. Party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said, “The ED’s action is a classic example of political vendetta and harassment of the Vadra family. This is a clear attempt to intimidate and silence them ahead of the elections.”
The BJP, on the other hand, has defended the ED’s actions, saying that the agency is merely doing its job and following the law. Party spokesperson Sambit Patra said, “The ED is a constitutional body that is empowered to investigate and prosecute cases of financial irregularities. If Robert Vadra has done something wrong, he should be prepared to face the law.”
The controversy surrounding Vadra’s land deal case has been ongoing for several years, with many questions still remaining unanswered. Despite the ED’s summons, many are skeptical about the chances of Vadra being convicted, given the lack of concrete evidence and the long delays in the case.
Sanjay’s comments about the “game of hide and seek” being played out have resonated with many who feel that the ED’s actions are inconsistent and lacking in transparency. As the investigation continues, it remains to be seen what action the ED will take based on the documents it has collected, and whether Vadra will finally be held accountable for his alleged wrongdoings.
