BJP Responds to Mamata’s ‘Divide & Rule’ Claim, Says ‘Did Mobs Come Out of Air”
The political landscape of West Bengal has been marred by violence and unrest in recent times, with the latest skirmish between BJP and TMC workers leaving several injured. In the aftermath of the violence, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused the BJP and RSS of playing a “divide and rule game” to further their political interests, leading to the unrest in the state.
However, the BJP has hit back at Banerjee’s statement, with party spokesperson Amit Malviya saying that the Bengal police were already aware of the rallies and protests planned by the BJP and RSS, and questioning how mobs, weapons, and stones could suddenly materialize out of thin air.
Malviya’s remarks were in response to Banerjee’s statement at a press conference where she alleged that the BJP and RSS were trying to create communal tension in the state by provoking clashes between different communities. She also accused the BJP of trying to destabilize the government in the state.
Banerjee’s statement was seen as an attempt to divert attention from the actual issues plaguing the state, including corruption, unemployment, and lawlessness. The BJP has been critical of the TMC government’s handling of the state’s law and order situation, with several instances of violence and intimidation reported in recent months.
Malviya’s response to Banerjee’s statement was seen as a strong rejoinder, with him questioning the Chief Minister’s motives. “Did mobs, weapons, and stones materialise out of thin air?” he asked, pointing out that the Bengal police were already aware of the rallies planned by the BJP and RSS.
Malviya also accused Banerjee of always misleading the public and trying to cover up the truth. “Mamata has always misled the public,” he said, adding that the BJP was committed to combating corruption and promoting good governance in the state.
The BJP’s response to Banerjee’s statement has been seen as a bid to shift the focus from the alleged “divide and rule game” to the actual issues plaguing the state. The party has been trying to position itself as a champion of good governance and law and order, and its response to Banerjee’s statement is seen as an attempt to reinforce this narrative.
The TMC, on the other hand, has been trying to portray the BJP as an anti-Bengali party that is trying to divide the state along communal lines. Banerjee has been accusing the BJP of trying to create a divide between the Hindus and Muslims in the state, and of using communal rhetoric to further its political interests.
The BJP, however, has been denying these allegations, and has been trying to project itself as a party that is committed to promoting communal harmony and social cohesion. The party has been pointing out that it has been working to bring together people from different communities and backgrounds, and that its policies are aimed at promoting the welfare of all sections of society.
In the midst of the political bickering, the people of West Bengal are the ones who are suffering the most. The state is facing a range of challenges, including corruption, unemployment, and lawlessness, and the violence and unrest are only making things worse.
The BJP’s response to Banerjee’s statement has been seen as a bid to shift the focus from the political rhetoric to the actual issues plaguing the state. The party’s spokesperson has been trying to emphasize the need for good governance and law and order, and has been accusing Banerjee of trying to divert attention from the real issues.
As the political situation in West Bengal continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the BJP’s response to Banerjee’s statement will play out. Will the party’s efforts to shift the focus from the “divide and rule game” to the actual issues plaguing the state prove successful, or will Banerjee’s allegations continue to resonate with the people of West Bengal? Only time will tell.
