BJP Responds to Mamata’s ‘Divide & Rule’ Claim, Says ‘Did Mobs Come Out of Air’
The political landscape of West Bengal has been witnessing increasing tensions and violence in recent times, with various groups and parties trading barbs and accusations. In the midst of this escalating situation, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused the BJP and RSS of playing a “divide and rule game” to further their political interests, leading to the violence in the state. However, the BJP has responded to these claims, saying that Mamata has always misled the public and that the Bengal police were aware of the rallies and protests that took place, but chose to remain silent.
In a press conference, BJP’s Amit Malviya, a senior spokesperson, took on Mamata’s claims, saying that the mobs, weapons, and stones that were used in the recent protests did not materialize out of thin air. “Bengal police were already aware of the rallies…Did mobs, weapons, and stones materialise out of thin air?” Malviya asked, pointing out the obvious lack of preparedness on the part of the police to handle the situation.
Malviya’s remarks came in response to Mamata’s statement earlier in the day, where she accused the BJP and RSS of using violent means to disrupt the peace and stability of the state. She also claimed that the RSS’s “Ghar Wapsi” campaign, which aimed to reconvert Christians and Muslims back to Hinduism, was a key factor in the violence.
However, Malviya refuted Mamata’s claims, saying that the BJP and RSS were not responsible for the violence in the state. “The RSS and BJP are not responsible for the violence in Bengal. We are not involved in any sort of violence or rioting. We are committed to peaceful politics and we will continue to work towards it,” he said.
Malviya also accused Mamata of using the “divide and rule” tactic herself, by pitting different communities against each other and using the police to suppress any opposition. “Mamata Banerjee has always misled the public. She has used the ‘divide and rule’ tactic to create divisions among the people. She has used the police to suppress any opposition. This is not the way to run a government,” he said.
The BJP spokesperson also drew attention to the lack of action taken by the Mamata government to address the issues of law and order in the state. “The Mamata government has failed to provide adequate security to the people of Bengal. They have failed to take action against the culprits involved in the violence. They have failed to maintain law and order in the state,” he said.
The BJP’s response to Mamata’s claims has sparked a heated debate in the political circles of West Bengal, with many questioning the sincerity of the Mamata government in addressing the issues of law and order in the state. While Mamata has accused the BJP and RSS of playing a “divide and rule game”, the BJP has accused her of using the same tactic herself.
As the political situation in West Bengal continues to deteriorate, it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold and what steps will be taken to address the issues of law and order in the state. One thing is certain, however, that the BJP and Mamata Banerjee will continue to engage in a war of words, with each side accusing the other of playing a “divide and rule game”.
