BJP Responds to Mamata’s ‘Divide & Rule’ Claim, Says ‘Did Mobs Come Out of Air’
The political landscape of West Bengal has been witnessing a series of violent incidents in recent times, with the latest being the clashes between the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters. The tension escalated when West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accused the BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of playing a “divide and rule” game to further their political interests. However, the BJP has strongly refuted these claims, saying that the allegations are baseless and an attempt to deflect attention from the TMC’s own failures.
Mamata’s ‘Divide & Rule’ Charge
In a recent press conference, Mamata Banerjee claimed that the BJP and RSS were trying to divide the people of West Bengal along communal lines to gain political advantage. She alleged that the BJP’s rallies and protests were being planned to create violence and chaos in the state, which would ultimately benefit the party’s political prospects. The TMC leader also accused the BJP of trying to create a rift between different communities in the state, saying that the party was using communal sentiments to further its political agenda.
BJP’s Rebuttal
The BJP has strongly rejected Mamata’s allegations, saying that they are baseless and an attempt to mislead the public. Amit Malviya, the BJP’s national spokesperson, took to social media to respond to Mamata’s claims, saying that the allegations were an “insult to the people of West Bengal”. Malviya questioned how the mobs, weapons, and stones that were used in the violent incidents in the state suddenly appeared out of thin air. “Did mobs, weapons, and stones materialise out of thin air?” Malviya asked, pointing out that the Bengal police were already aware of the rallies and protests that were planned in the state.
Malviya further accused Mamata of having a history of misleading the public. “Mamata has always misled the public,” he said, citing examples of her previous statements being proved false. He also alleged that the TMC was trying to justify its own failures by blaming the BJP and RSS for the violence in the state.
BJP’s Stand on Violence
The BJP has been vocal in its condemnation of the violence that has been witnessed in West Bengal in recent times. The party has accused the TMC of using goons and hooligans to intimidate its supporters and create chaos in the state. The BJP has also demanded that the TMC take immediate action to stop the violence and ensure the safety of its supporters.
TMC’s Response
The TMC has, however, refuted the BJP’s allegations, saying that the party is trying to create a false narrative to divert attention from its own failures. The TMC has accused the BJP of trying to create a rift between different communities in the state and said that the party’s actions are creating a sense of fear and insecurity among the people of West Bengal.
Conclusion
The political situation in West Bengal is tense, with the BJP and TMC engaged in a bitter battle for power. The allegations of ‘divide and rule’ and the claims of violence have raised concerns about the state’s political stability. While the BJP has rejected Mamata’s allegations, saying that they are baseless and an attempt to mislead the public, the TMC has accused the BJP of trying to create a rift between different communities in the state.
As the situation in West Bengal continues to unfold, it remains to be seen whether the BJP and TMC can work together to find a solution to the state’s problems. In the meantime, the people of West Bengal are left to wonder whether the allegations of ‘divide and rule’ are genuine or just a political ploy.
