As per Tharoor, nothing should be asked from BJP on Pahalgam attack: Raj
The recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, has left the entire nation in shock. The attack, which claimed the lives of three policemen, has sparked a heated debate on the efficacy of intelligence agencies and the government’s response to such incidents. In the midst of this debate, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor made a statement that has drawn criticism from his party colleague, Udit Raj.
Tharoor, while speaking on the Pahalgam attack, said that no country has foolproof intelligence, implying that even the most advanced intelligence agencies can’t prevent such attacks with 100% certainty. However, his statement was met with skepticism and criticism from Udit Raj, who took to social media to express his disappointment.
Udit Raj, in a tweet, urged Tharoor to ask Prime Minister Narendra Modi, “When will Modiji teach Pakistan a lesson…like Congress did in 1965 and 1971?” He added, “According to you, Congress should guarantee foolproof intelligence to BJP and nothing should be asked from BJP.”
Raj’s tweet is a clear indication that he is unhappy with Tharoor’s statement, which he believes is an admission of helplessness on the part of the government. By saying that no country has foolproof intelligence, Tharoor may be implying that the government can’t do much to prevent such attacks, which is a notion that Raj finds unacceptable.
The criticism of Tharoor’s statement is not limited to Raj alone. Many others have also questioned the MP’s views, arguing that the statement is a cop-out and an admission of failure on the part of the government. They point out that the government has a responsibility to ensure the safety and security of its citizens, and that it can’t simply wash its hands of the responsibility by saying that no country has foolproof intelligence.
The Pahalgam attack is not the first of its kind in Jammu and Kashmir. The region has been plagued by terrorism and violence for decades, and the government has faced criticism for its inability to stem the tide of violence. The attack has once again raised questions about the government’s strategy to deal with terrorism and its ability to protect its citizens.
In response to the attack, the government has promised to take strong action against those responsible and to ensure the safety and security of its citizens. However, the government’s response has been criticized for being inadequate and ineffective. Many have pointed out that the government’s strategy to deal with terrorism has been inadequate and that more needs to be done to prevent such attacks in the future.
The Pahalgam attack is also a reminder of the need for better intelligence gathering and sharing between intelligence agencies. The attack was carried out by terrorists who had infiltrated into India from Pakistan, and it highlights the need for better coordination and sharing of intelligence between intelligence agencies.
In conclusion, Tharoor’s statement that no country has foolproof intelligence has been met with criticism from many, including Udit Raj. While it may be true that no country has foolproof intelligence, it is not an excuse for the government to do nothing to prevent such attacks. The government has a responsibility to ensure the safety and security of its citizens, and it needs to take concrete steps to prevent such attacks in the future.
