Akhilesh Yadav Slams CM Yogi for ‘Vulture’ ‘Pig’ Remark on Kumbh
The ongoing Maha Kumbh festival in Haridwar has been marred by controversy, with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath facing backlash for his recent remarks about the critics of the event. In a sensational statement, Adityanath referred to those criticizing the Kumbh as “vultures” and “pigs”, sparking widespread outrage and condemnation.
However, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has now slammed Adityanath over his remarks, calling them “insulting” and “unwarranted”. Addressing the media on Tuesday, Yadav said, “Who was he insulting by calling them vultures? Was he referring to those searching for their lost loved ones? Were they the ones who were criticising the quality of water in the Ganga?”
Yadav’s remarks came at a time when the opposition parties and several citizens have been raising concerns about the environmental and health risks associated with the Maha Kumbh. The festival has seen a massive influx of devotees, which has led to a surge in pollution and waste management issues. Many have also expressed worries about the quality of water in the Ganga, citing reports from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) that the river’s water quality has deteriorated significantly.
Yadav’s comments were seen as a direct hit at Adityanath, who had earlier claimed that those criticizing the Kumbh were doing so because they were jealous of the event’s grandeur. However, Yadav’s remarks were aimed at highlighting the Chief Minister’s insensitivity towards the concerns of the people.
The Samajwadi Party chief also took issue with Adityanath’s claim that the CPCB had cleared the water quality of the Ganga. “None of us said that the quality of water of the river Ganga is bad, CPCB said that,” Yadav said. “Why is the Chief Minister trying to mislead the people? Is he trying to hide the truth?”
Yadav’s comments have sparked a fresh wave of criticism against Adityanath, with many calling for his resignation over his “insensitive” remarks. The opposition parties have also demanded that the state government take immediate action to address the environmental and health issues associated with the Maha Kumbh.
The controversy surrounding the Kumbh has already led to a massive outcry on social media, with many users expressing their outrage and disbelief at Adityanath’s remarks. The hashtag #VultureChiefMinister has been trending on Twitter, with many users calling for Adityanath’s resignation.
The Kumbh festival, which is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, has been a major topic of controversy in recent weeks. The event has seen a massive influx of devotees, which has led to concerns about the environmental and health risks associated with the festival.
In the midst of the controversy, Adityanath has been facing criticism for his handling of the event. Many have accused him of being more concerned with the festival’s grandeur than the well-being of the people attending it. The Chief Minister’s recent remarks have only added fuel to the fire, with many calling for him to take responsibility for the mess.
As the controversy surrounding the Kumbh continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how Adityanath will respond to the backlash. However, one thing is clear – the Chief Minister’s remarks have sparked a wave of outrage and criticism, and it will be difficult for him to recover from the fallout.
