Goons mobbed, threatened him & my son: Ayesha as husband booked over fight in Goa
The night of January 22, 2023, will be etched in the memory of Ayesha Takia Azmi, actress and wife of Maharashtra MLA Abu Azmi’s son Farhan, as a night of horror. In a shocking incident, Farhan and his father were allegedly brutalized by a mob of around 150 people in Goa, leading to a police complaint being filed.
According to reports, the altercation took place at a beachside restaurant in Goa, where Farhan and his father were enjoying a quiet dinner. However, things took a turn for the worse when a group of locals started harassing them, allegedly over a misunderstanding.
Ayesha, who took to social media to express her outrage and distress, shared a harrowing account of the incident. “It was a night of horror… My husband and son were brutally bullied… Goan goons mobbed, threatened and tormented them for hours,” she wrote.
In a subsequent interview, Ayesha revealed that her husband and son were left shaken and traumatized by the ordeal. “It was like a scene from a horror movie. They were mercilessly beaten and threatened. The policemen arrived late, and by the time they did, the goons had fled the scene,” she said.
The incident has left the actress and her family deeply troubled. “For hours, they were threatened, bullied, and abused. My son was crying, and my husband was trying to protect him. It was a traumatic experience for both of them,” Ayesha added.
The police complaint filed by Farhan and his father alleges that the mob of around 150 people started harassing them over a misunderstanding regarding a parking spot. The complaint also states that the locals used abusive language, hurled stones, and even threatened to kill them.
The Goa Police have since launched an investigation into the incident and have booked the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including rioting, assault, and criminal intimidation.
The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many condemning the brutal behavior of the mob and calling for justice for Farhan and his father. “This is unacceptable behavior. No one deserves to be treated like this, especially not in a tourist state like Goa,” wrote one user.
Others have called for greater awareness and understanding between tourists and locals in Goa. “This incident highlights the need for greater cultural sensitivity and understanding between tourists and locals. We need to work towards creating a more harmonious environment in Goa,” wrote another user.
For Ayesha and her family, the incident has been a sobering reminder of the importance of safety and respect in public places. “As a mother, I am filled with anxiety and fear for my son’s safety. I want authorities to take immediate action against the perpetrators and ensure that such incidents do not recur,” she said.
As the investigation into the incident continues, many are hoping for a swift and just resolution to the case. Meanwhile, Ayesha’s account of the incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of empathy, understanding, and respect in our society.
