Teerth Gopicon Signs MoU of ₹1,500 Crore & Bags Order from JVVNL
In a significant development in the renewable energy sector, Teerth Gopicon Limited (TGL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Madhya Pradesh’s Renewable Energy Department to invest ₹1,500 crore in a massive 6 GW solar manufacturing project. The project entails setting up manufacturing facilities for 3 GW modules and 3 GW solar cells. This MoU is a major boost to India’s ambitious plan to increase its solar power generation capacity and reduce its carbon footprint.
The MoU was signed in the presence of senior officials from the Government of Madhya Pradesh and TGL. The project is expected to create employment opportunities and generate revenue for the local economy. The manufacturing plant will be set up in Madhya Pradesh, which has been identified as one of the leading solar power generating states in the country.
TGL has also received an order from Jaipur Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) for the development of 6.89 MW of grid-connected solar plants under the Prime Minister’s Kusum (Kisan Urja Solar Umbrella for Solarization) scheme. This RESCO (Renewable Energy Service Company) mode project will be implemented across four locations in Rajasthan and will involve a 25-year operation and maintenance (O&M) period.
The PM-KUSUM scheme is designed to promote rural solar power generation and provide clean energy to rural areas. The scheme aims to promote the installation of solar power plants in agricultural areas and provide a reliable source of energy to farmers. The scheme also aims to reduce the dependence on diesel generators and provide a cleaner and more efficient source of energy.
TGL’s order from JVVNL is a significant milestone for the company, as it marks its entry into the RESCO mode project segment. The company has experience in developing and operating solar power plants, and this order demonstrates its capabilities in the RESCO mode.
The order from JVVNL is also significant for the state of Rajasthan, which has been promoting solar power generation in recent years. The state has set an ambitious target of generating 30 GW of solar power by 2030, and projects like the one awarded to TGL will help achieve this target.
The ₹1,500 crore MoU signed by TGL with the Government of Madhya Pradesh’s Renewable Energy Department is also a significant development for the state. The project will not only create employment opportunities but also generate revenue for the local economy. The state government’s decision to partner with TGL for this project demonstrates its commitment to promoting renewable energy and reducing its dependence on fossil fuels.
In conclusion, TGL’s signing of the MoU with the Government of Madhya Pradesh’s Renewable Energy Department and its order from JVVNL are significant developments in the renewable energy sector. The project will not only create employment opportunities and generate revenue but also promote the use of clean energy and reduce India’s carbon footprint. As the country continues to focus on increasing its solar power generation capacity, projects like the one awarded to TGL will play a crucial role in achieving this goal.
