Goons Mobbed, Threatened Him & My Son: Ayesha as Husband Booked Over Fight in Goa
The recent altercation between Maharashtra MLA Abu Azmi’s son Farhan and a group of locals in Goa has sent shockwaves across the nation. Actress Ayesha Takia Azmi, Farhan’s wife, has spoken out about the harrowing experience, describing it as a “night of horror”. In an interview, she revealed that her husband and son were brutally bullied by a mob of almost 150 people, who mobbed, threatened, and tormented them for hours.
According to reports, the altercation took place in Goa, where Farhan and his friends were celebrating the birthday of a mutual friend. The situation escalated when a group of locals, allegedly led by a local businessman, started arguing with the group over a noise complaint. The dispute quickly turned physical, with Farhan and his friends being attacked by the mob.
Ayesha Takia Azmi, who was not present at the party, described the incident as a “night of horror” in an interview with a leading daily. She expressed her outrage and concern over the way her husband and son were treated, saying, “It was a night of horror. My husband and son were brutally bullied… Goan goons mobbed, threatened and tormented them for hours.”
She also revealed that Farhan had to call the police for help, as the situation became increasingly violent and out of control. “He was surrounded by almost 150 people, and he had to call the police for help,” she said. “It was a very scary situation, and I’m just grateful that no one was seriously injured.”
The police were eventually called to the scene, and an FIR was registered against Farhan and his friends. However, Ayesha has come out strongly in support of her husband, saying that he was simply trying to protect himself and his friends from the aggressive mob.
“I think it’s really unfair that my husband has been booked in this case,” she said. “He was just trying to protect himself and his friends from a bunch of goons who were threatening and intimidating them. I think the police should have taken a more balanced view of the situation.”
The incident has sparked a heated debate over the rising tensions between tourists and locals in Goa, particularly in the party capital of Goa, Palolem. Many have expressed outrage over the way Farhan and his friends were treated, and have called for greater action to be taken to protect tourists and locals alike.
In a statement, the Goa Police said that they were investigating the incident and had booked Farhan and his friends under charges of rioting and causing damage to property. However, Ayesha has urged the police to take a more nuanced view of the situation, saying that her husband and son were simply trying to enjoy a night out with friends.
“I think the police should have taken a more balanced view of the situation,” she said. “My husband and son were just trying to have a good time with their friends, and they got caught up in a situation that was beyond their control. I think they should be given the benefit of the doubt, rather than being booked and charged without any justification.”
As the investigation continues, Ayesha’s comments have sparked a heated debate over the rising tensions between tourists and locals in Goa. While some have expressed outrage over the way Farhan and his friends were treated, others have called for greater action to be taken to protect tourists and locals alike.
Regardless of the outcome, one thing is clear: the incident has sent a chilling message to both tourists and locals in Goa, and highlights the need for greater understanding and cooperation between the two communities.
