Samay, Ranveer, Ashish & others booked amid row over vulgar remarks
In a recent controversy, four popular YouTubers, including Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija, Ashish Chanchlani, and Jaspreet Singh, have been booked by the police in Assam for promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit and vulgar discussions on a recent episode of “India’s Got Latent”.
The FIR (First Information Report) was filed by a local resident, identified as Rohan Kumar, who claimed that the episode featured the YouTubers making “vulgar and obscene” remarks, which were offensive and hurtful to many viewers. Kumar alleged that the episode was “promoting obscenity and obscenity in the name of entertainment”.
The controversy began when Ranveer Allahbadia, one of the most popular YouTubers in the country, made a joke about watching his parents having sex. The joke was meant to be humorous, but it seemed to have struck a chord with many viewers, who took to social media to express their outrage and disgust.
The FIR, which was filed in the Kamrup district of Assam, names all five YouTubers as accused, along with the producers of the show, “India’s Got Latent”, which is a reality TV show that features contestants competing against each other to win a cash prize.
According to the FIR, the accused YouTubers made “vulgar and obscene” remarks during the episode, which were “intended to shock and offend” viewers. The FIR also alleged that the episode was “promoting obscenity and obscenity in the name of entertainment”.
The controversy has sparked a heated debate on social media, with many people expressing their outrage and disgust at the YouTubers’ behavior. Some have called for the YouTubers to be banned from the platform, while others have defended their right to free speech.
However, not everyone is convinced that the YouTubers’ behavior was inappropriate. Some have argued that the episode was meant to be humorous and that the YouTubers were simply trying to entertain their audience. Others have pointed out that the episode was not intended for a general audience and that the YouTubers were targeting a specific niche audience.
Regardless of one’s perspective on the issue, it is clear that the controversy has sparked a much-needed conversation about the boundaries of free speech and the importance of respecting others’ sensitivities. As a society, we need to be mindful of the impact that our words and actions can have on others and strive to create a culture of respect and empathy.
In the meantime, the police have launched an investigation into the matter and are expected to take action against the accused YouTubers. The FIR has also sparked a wider conversation about the need for greater regulation of the online content that is available to children and young people.
As the controversy continues to unfold, it is clear that the issue is not just about the YouTubers’ behavior, but about the broader cultural and societal issues that are at play. It is a reminder that we need to be mindful of the impact that our words and actions can have on others and strive to create a culture of respect and empathy.
