Beef Smuggling Racket Busted, 10 Arrested in Himachal & U’khand
In a major crackdown, a large-scale inter-state beef smuggling racket was busted on Monday in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, resulting in the arrest of around 10 individuals. The racket, which allegedly involved the slaughtering of dozens of cows, has sent shockwaves across the region, with Hindu organizations protesting the discovery of cattle body parts in the Yamuna River.
According to police officials, the crackdown was the result of a joint operation between the Himachal Pradesh Police and the Uttarakhand Police. The operation, which was conducted over several days, led to the arrest of 10 individuals, including the kingpin of the racket. The police are still searching for the remaining members of the gang.
The racket was allegedly involved in smuggling cattle from various parts of the country, including Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, and slaughtering them in secret locations. The beef was then sold in the black market, with the profits being shared among the gang members.
The discovery of cattle body parts in the Yamuna River sparked outrage among local residents and Hindu organizations, who demanded action against those involved in the racket. The protests, which were held on Monday, were peaceful but intense, with protesters chanting slogans and holding placards demanding justice for the cows.
“This is a shameful act that has been going on for a long time. We demand that the government takes strict action against those involved in the racket and ensures that such incidents do not happen in the future,” said a spokesperson for one of the Hindu organizations that participated in the protests.
The police, who were criticized for their initial inaction, have assured the public that they are doing everything in their power to bring the perpetrators to justice. “We have arrested 10 individuals and are searching for the remaining members of the gang. We will leave no stone unturned in our efforts to bring them to justice,” said a police official.
The busting of the beef smuggling racket has also raised questions about the lack of effective law enforcement in the region. “This is a clear indication of the failure of our law enforcement agencies to prevent such crimes. We need to take a tough stance against those involved in such activities and ensure that our laws are effective in preventing such incidents,” said a local resident.
The incident has also highlighted the need for greater awareness about the importance of protecting our livestock. “Cows are an integral part of our culture and economy. It is our responsibility to protect them and ensure that they are not subjected to such brutal treatment,” said a local cow protection activist.
As the investigation continues, the police are working to identify the masterminds behind the racket and bring them to justice. The arrested individuals are currently being interrogated and are expected to be produced in court soon.
In the meantime, the protests are expected to continue, with Hindu organizations demanding that the government takes stern action against those involved in the racket. The incident has sent a strong message that such crimes will not be tolerated and that the law will take its course.
