Serial Rapist Whose Death Penalty Was Cancelled Rapes & Kills 11-Year-Old in MP
In a chilling and gruesome case, a 40-year-old man who had escaped the death penalty in a previous rape case has been arrested for allegedly raping and murdering an 11-year-old hearing- and speech-impaired girl in Madhya Pradesh. The accused, Ramesh, had spent 10 years in jail for raping a five-year-old girl in 2003 and had received a death sentence for raping an eight-year-old girl in 2014. However, his death penalty was cancelled, allowing him to walk free once again.
The incident took place in a village in Madhya Pradesh’s Neemuch district, where Ramesh allegedly lured the 11-year-old girl to a secluded area and committed the heinous crime. The girl’s body was found with multiple injuries, and an autopsy revealed that she had been raped and murdered. The police launched an investigation and collected evidence, including a pair of slippers and a torn piece of cloth, which led them to Ramesh.
Ramesh, who was on the run after committing the crime, was eventually caught in Kumbh, where he had gone to escape the law. The police found him hiding in a temple and arrested him after a brief struggle.
The case has sent shockwaves across the country, with many calling for stricter laws to protect children from sexual predators. The incident is also a stark reminder of the lack of justice for victims of sexual crimes, as Ramesh’s previous death penalty was cancelled, allowing him to commit the crime again.
The 11-year-old girl, who was hearing- and speech-impaired, was a student at a local school. Her parents had reported her missing when she failed to return home after school, and the police launched a search operation. The police found her body in a forest area, and an autopsy revealed that she had been raped and murdered.
The police said that Ramesh had a previous criminal record and had been convicted of raping a five-year-old girl in 2003. He had received a 10-year jail sentence for the crime and was released in 2013. In 2014, he was convicted of raping an eight-year-old girl and received a death sentence. However, his death penalty was cancelled, and he was released from jail in 2019.
Ramesh’s arrest has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for harsher punishments for sexual offenders. The case has also highlighted the need for better laws and policies to protect children from sexual predators.
The police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and are investigating the matter further. Ramesh has been remanded to police custody and will be produced in court soon.
The case is a stark reminder of the need for greater vigilance and stricter laws to protect children from sexual predators. It is also a call to action for governments and societies to do more to support victims of sexual crimes and to hold perpetrators accountable for their actions.
