Serial Rapist Whose Death Penalty Was Cancelled Rapes & Kills 11-Year-Old in MP
In a shocking and disturbing turn of events, a 40-year-old man who had previously spent 10 years in jail for raping a five-year-old and had received a death penalty for raping an eight-year-old, has allegedly committed a heinous crime once again. This time, he has been accused of raping and murdering an 11-year-old girl who was hearing- and speech-impaired in Madhya Pradesh.
The accused, Ramesh, had managed to escape after committing the crime and went to the Kumbh Mela, a major Hindu pilgrimage event, where he was eventually caught by the police.
The horrific incident took place on February 15, when the 11-year-old girl was playing outside her home in a village in Madhya Pradesh’s Neemuch district. According to the police, Ramesh, who was known to the family, lured the girl into a nearby field and raped her. When she tried to resist, he strangled her to death.
The police were informed about the incident by the girl’s family, who had been searching for her. An investigation was launched, and after gathering evidence and statements from eyewitnesses, the police identified Ramesh as the prime suspect.
Ramesh’s previous criminal record is quite disturbing. In 2003, he was convicted of raping a five-year-old girl and spent 10 years in jail. However, in 2014, he was sentenced to death for raping an eight-year-old girl. But, somehow, his death penalty was cancelled, allowing him to walk free.
The fact that Ramesh was able to commit such heinous crimes twice, and still managed to escape punishment the first time, raises serious questions about the effectiveness of the justice system in India. It is clear that there are significant flaws in the system that allow repeat offenders like Ramesh to continue committing crimes with impunity.
The case has sent shockwaves across the country, with many calling for stricter laws and harsher punishments for rapists. The government has also come under fire for failing to protect the victims of such crimes.
The fact that the victim in this case was a hearing- and speech-impaired girl makes the crime even more disturbing. The fact that she was unable to defend herself or cry out for help only adds to the tragedy.
The police have arrested Ramesh and are currently questioning him about the crime. If found guilty, he can face the death penalty once again.
The case serves as a stark reminder of the need for greater awareness and education about the issue of sexual violence in India. It also highlights the need for stricter laws and harsher punishments for rapists, as well as greater protection and support for victims of such crimes.
The government and authorities must take immediate action to ensure that such heinous crimes do not continue to occur. The victim’s family deserves justice, and the perpetrator must be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
