Serial Rapist Whose Death Penalty Was Cancelled Rapes & Kills 11-year-old in MP
The case of serial rapist Ramesh, who was earlier sentenced to death for the rape of an eight-year-old girl in 2014, has shocked the nation once again. This time, he has been accused of brutally raping and murdering an 11-year-old hearing- and speech-impaired girl in Madhya Pradesh. The 40-year-old accused, who had already spent 10 years in jail for raping a five-year-old girl in 2003, has been caught after escaping following the latest crime.
According to the police, the 11-year-old victim was playing outside her house in the Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh when Ramesh allegedly abducted her and took her to a nearby field. There, he brutally raped and murdered her in a heinous crime that has left the nation in shock.
The accused, Ramesh, had a previous conviction for the rape of a five-year-old girl in 2003, for which he was sentenced to 10 years in jail. However, in 2014, he was sentenced to death for the rape of an eight-year-old girl. But, surprisingly, his death penalty was cancelled, allowing him to walk free after serving only 10 years of his sentence.
This case has raised serious questions about the effectiveness of the justice system in India, particularly when it comes to cases of sexual violence against children. The fact that Ramesh was able to escape and commit another heinous crime after being released from jail raises serious concerns about the monitoring and rehabilitation of convicted criminals.
The investigation into the latest crime was launched after the victim’s body was found by local residents, who reported the matter to the police. The police initially launched a search operation and later identified Ramesh as the main accused based on the evidence collected from the crime scene.
Ramesh, who was on the run for several days, was eventually caught in the Kumbh Mela, a major Hindu pilgrimage site in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The police had launched a nationwide search operation and had circulated his picture and description on social media to apprehend him.
The police have charged Ramesh with the murder and rape of the 11-year-old girl under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, which makes it a non-bailable offense to commit such crimes. The accused has been produced in court and is currently in police custody.
The case has sparked outrage and condemnation on social media, with many calling for stricter laws and harsher punishments for perpetrators of sexual violence against children. The incident has also raised questions about the safety and security of children in the country, particularly in rural areas where they are often more vulnerable to such crimes.
The Madhya Pradesh Police have assured that they are doing everything possible to ensure that justice is served in this case. “We have registered a case under the POCSO Act and are investigating the matter. We will ensure that the accused is brought to justice and punished accordingly,” said a police official.
As the nation continues to reel from this shocking crime, it is clear that more needs to be done to protect children from sexual violence and to ensure that perpetrators are held accountable for their crimes. This case is a stark reminder of the need for stricter laws, better enforcement, and greater public awareness to prevent such heinous crimes from happening in the future.
