Serial Rapist Whose Death Penalty was Cancelled Rapes & Kills 11-year-old in MP
A heinous crime has shaken the nation, as a 40-year-old man who had previously escaped the death penalty for his heinous crimes has allegedly committed another brutal rape and murder of an 11-year-old hearing- and speech-impaired girl in Madhya Pradesh. The accused, Ramesh, had spent 10 years in jail for raping a five-year-old girl in 2003 and had received the death penalty for raping an eight-year-old girl in 2014. However, his death penalty was later cancelled, allowing him to roam free and commit yet another atrocities.
According to the police, Ramesh, a resident of Chhatarpur district in Madhya Pradesh, had committed the crime on January 25. The victim, an 11-year-old girl who was hearing- and speech-impaired, was playing outside her home when Ramesh allegedly kidnapped her and took her to a nearby forest. There, he brutally raped and murdered her.
The police were initially investigating a missing person’s report filed by the girl’s family, but it wasn’t until a passerby stumbled upon the body that the crime came to light. The police were called to the scene, and an investigation was launched. The autopsy report revealed that the girl had been raped and murdered, leading the police to launch a massive hunt for the accused.
After a thorough investigation, the police finally apprehended Ramesh on February 1, 10 days after the crime. He was found to be hiding at the Kumbh Mela, a major pilgrimage site in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The police were able to track him down with the help of CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts.
Ramesh’s criminal history is shocking and disturbing. In 2003, he was convicted of raping a five-year-old girl and spent 10 years in jail. He was released in 2013 and was subsequently given the death penalty for raping an eight-year-old girl in 2014. However, his death penalty was cancelled, allowing him to walk free once again.
This case is a stark reminder of the need for the law to take a harsher stance against perpetrators of heinous crimes like rape and murder. The cancellation of Ramesh’s death penalty in his previous case has allowed him to continue committing atrocities, leaving a trail of destruction and heartbreak in his wake.
The police and the government have come under fire for their handling of the case. Critics are questioning how Ramesh was able to escape and commit another crime despite his previous conviction and sentence. The police are also facing criticism for their slow response to the crime, with some accusing them of being complacent and failing to take the case seriously.
The case has also raised questions about the effectiveness of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, which is meant to protect children from sexual abuse. The act has been widely praised for its efforts to combat child sexual abuse, but cases like Ramesh’s highlight the need for stricter punishments and better enforcement.
The victim’s family is still reeling from the tragedy, and are demanding justice for their daughter. The police have promised to take the case seriously and to ensure that Ramesh is given the harshest possible punishment. The case is a grim reminder of the need for the law to take a stand against perpetrators of heinous crimes like rape and murder.
