Congress Holds Candle March Against Pahalgam Attack, Rahul Gandhi Joins
India has been witnessing a wave of terror attacks in recent times, and the latest incident in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, has left the nation in shock. In response to this brutal attack, the Congress party has taken to the streets to express their outrage and solidarity with the victims and their families. A candlelight march was conducted in New Delhi, which was attended by no less than the party’s leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.
The march, which was organized by the Congress party, saw a large number of party workers and supporters gather in the capital city to condemn the attack and demand justice for the victims. Rahul Gandhi, who has been a vocal critic of the government’s handling of the situation in Kashmir, was present at the march and addressed the gathering. “The people of Pahalgam and the entire nation are in a state of shock and grief after this brutal attack. We condemn this act of terror in the strongest possible terms and demand that those responsible are brought to justice,” Rahul Gandhi said.
The candlelight march in New Delhi was not the only one of its kind. Similar marches were held in other parts of the country, including Bihar’s Patna, Telangana’s Hyderabad, and Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) led by Tejashwi Yadav took out a march in Patna, where the party workers lit candles and chanted slogans demanding justice for the victims of the Pahalgam attack.
In Hyderabad, a joint march was held by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM). The march was attended by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, who addressed the gathering and condemned the attack.
“We strongly condemn this heinous act of terror and demand that the government takes immediate action to apprehend and punish those responsible. We also demand that the government provides adequate compensation to the families of the victims and ensures their safety and security,” Revanth Reddy said.
Asaduddin Owaisi also addressed the gathering and expressed his deep concern at the rising incidence of terror attacks in the country. “We must not forget that terrorism is a global phenomenon and affects people of all faiths and communities. We must stand united against this menace and work together to ensure that our country remains a safe and peaceful place for all,” he said.
