ED, CBI keep summoning my family, BJP behind it: Tejashwi Yadav
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has expressed frustration and concern over the repeated summons issued to his family members by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the land-for-jobs scam. In a recent development, his father Lalu Prasad Yadav was summoned on Wednesday, while his mother and sister were questioned a day earlier.
Tejashwi Yadav, who is also the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of misusing constitutional agencies to target his family and solely focusing on Bihar after the Delhi polls. The RJD leader has claimed that people might have lost count of how many times his family has been summoned by the ED and other agencies.
“It seems like a never-ending saga. My family members have been summoned again and again, and it’s getting frustrating. The ED and CBI are being used as political tools to harass and intimidate us,” Tejashwi Yadav said in a statement.
The latest summons to Lalu Prasad Yadav come at a time when the ED is investigating the land-for-jobs scam, which allegedly involved the transfer of jobs to candidates in exchange for plots of land. The scam is believed to have taken place during Lalu Prasad Yadav’s tenure as the Chief Minister of Bihar.
Tejashwi Yadav has questioned the timing of the summons, which he believes is aimed at targeting his family ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections. “The BJP wants to create a controversy and divert attention from its own failures. They are trying to use the ED and CBI to discredit my family and the RJD,” he said.
The RJD leader has also pointed out that his family members have been cooperating with the investigating agencies and have provided all the necessary documents and evidence. “We have nothing to hide. We have been transparent and have provided all the necessary details to the agencies. But despite this, the ED and CBI continue to harass us,” he said.
The BJP, on the other hand, has denied any involvement in the summoning of Tejashwi Yadav’s family members. “The ED and CBI are independent agencies, and they are doing their job. The RJD is trying to create a controversy and divert attention from its own failures,” said a senior BJP leader.
The land-for-jobs scam has been a major issue in Bihar, and the RJD has been accused of being involved in the scam. However, Tejashwi Yadav has denied any involvement and has accused the BJP of misusing the ED and CBI to target his family.
The recent summons to Tejashwi Yadav’s family members have caused tension in Bihar, with the RJD accusing the BJP of using constitutional agencies to target its leaders. The RJD has demanded that the BJP stop using the ED and CBI to harass its leaders and instead focus on addressing the issues facing the people of Bihar.
The ED and CBI have been investigating the land-for-jobs scam for several years, and several high-ranking officials have been arrested in connection with the scam. However, Tejashwi Yadav’s family has been accused of being involved in the scam, and the recent summons have raised questions about the political motivations behind the investigation.
In conclusion, the repeated summons issued to Tejashwi Yadav’s family members by the ED and CBI have raised concerns about the misuse of constitutional agencies to target political opponents. The RJD leader has accused the BJP of using the ED and CBI to discredit his family and the RJD ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections. The controversy has highlighted the need for transparency and accountability in the functioning of the ED and CBI, and the need for political leaders to focus on addressing the issues facing the people of Bihar rather than engaging in political vendetta.
