PM Modi to Inaugurate USBRL Project in J&K on April 19
The much-awaited Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project is all set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 19. This ambitious project has been in the making for several years and is expected to revolutionize the transportation infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir. The 272-kilometer long project is a testament to India’s commitment to developing its rail network and improving connectivity across the country.
The USBRL project is a significant milestone in the development of Jammu and Kashmir, as it will provide a direct rail link between the three major cities of Udhampur, Srinagar, and Baramulla. The project includes a 119-kilometer long tunnel, which is one of the longest rail tunnels in the country. The tunnel will pass through the Pir Panjal mountain range, which is known for its rugged terrain and harsh climate.
One of the most impressive features of the USBRL project is the 1.315-kilometer long railway bridge over the Chenab River. This bridge is not only the highest railway bridge in India but also one of the highest in the world. The bridge has been built at a height of 359 meters above the river bed, and its construction has been a significant engineering feat.
The USBRL project is expected to have a significant impact on the economy of Jammu and Kashmir. The project will not only improve connectivity but also create new employment opportunities and boost economic growth in the region. The project has also been designed to cater to the needs of the Armed Forces, with the construction of a rail link to the Siachen Glacier, which is one of the most inhospitable places on earth.
In addition to the inauguration of the USBRL project, Prime Minister Modi will also launch two Vande Bharat trains on April 19. One of the trains will operate between Srinagar and Quetta, while the other will operate between Katra and Jammu. The Vande Bharat trains are known for their speed, comfort, and punctuality, and are expected to provide a significant boost to the rail network in Jammu and Kashmir.
In preparation for the visit of Prime Minister Modi, security has been heightened in Jammu and Kashmir. The Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), have been deployed in large numbers to ensure the safety and security of the Prime Minister and other dignitaries. The government has also taken measures to ensure that the inauguration ceremony is conducted smoothly and without any disruptions.
The inauguration of the USBRL project and the launch of the Vande Bharat trains are significant events for Jammu and Kashmir, and are expected to have a lasting impact on the region. The project will not only improve connectivity but also create new opportunities for economic growth and development. As Prime Minister Modi visits Jammu and Kashmir on April 19, he will be marking a major milestone in the development of the region, and cementing India’s commitment to its growth and prosperity.
