ASUS & VIDYA Launch Digital Literacy Drive for 6,000+ Students
In a significant move to bridge the digital divide and empower the next generation, ASUS, a leading technology company, has collaborated with VIDYA, a non-profit organization, to launch a digital literacy drive for over 6,000 students from underprivileged backgrounds in Western India. The program, designed to focus on digital literacy and skilling initiatives, aims to equip students from Grade 1-10 as well as youth with essential skills and digital expertise through interactive and project-based learning.
The digital literacy program, launched recently, will reach out to students from over 100 schools in Western India, including rural and urban areas. The program is specifically designed to cater to the needs of underprivileged children and youth, who often lack access to digital resources and training. The initiative is part of ASUS’ corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts to promote digital inclusion and bridge the digital divide.
The program’s curriculum is designed to be age-appropriate and focuses on developing essential digital skills, such as basic computer operations, internet safety, digital citizenship, and critical thinking. The interactive and project-based approach will enable students to learn through hands-on activities, games, and simulations, making learning fun and engaging.
“We are thrilled to partner with VIDYA to launch this digital literacy program,” said Mr. Arnold Su, Regional Director, ASUS India. “Our goal is to empower underprivileged children and youth with essential digital skills, enabling them to participate effectively in the digital economy and make informed decisions about technology. We believe that digital literacy is a critical tool for inclusivity and social mobility, and we are committed to making a positive impact in the communities we serve.”
VIDYA, a non-profit organization, has been working tirelessly to provide education and digital literacy programs to underprivileged children and youth. The organization’s founder, Ms. Ritu Aggarwal, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are delighted to collaborate with ASUS on this initiative. Our goal is to equip underprivileged children and youth with the skills they need to succeed in today’s digital world. With ASUS’ expertise in technology and our experience in education, we are confident that this program will have a significant impact on the lives of these students.”
The digital literacy program is designed to cater to the diverse needs of students, including those with disabilities. The program will be delivered through a combination of online and offline modules, ensuring that students have access to digital resources and training, regardless of their location or circumstances.
The program’s impact will be measured through a series of assessments and evaluations, which will track student progress and achievement over time. The data collected will also help ASUS and VIDYA to refine the program and improve its effectiveness.
In conclusion, the digital literacy program launched by ASUS and VIDYA is a significant step towards promoting digital inclusion and bridging the digital divide. The program’s focus on interactive and project-based learning, combined with its age-appropriate curriculum, makes it an effective tool for equipping underprivileged children and youth with essential digital skills. As the digital world continues to evolve, it is crucial that we empower the next generation with the skills they need to succeed. This program is a testament to ASUS’ commitment to promoting digital literacy and social responsibility, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on the lives of these students.
