Elon Musk is ‘pure evil’: Ex-Tesla engineer & whistleblower
In a scathing attack, Cristina Balan, a former Tesla engineer and whistleblower, has labelled billionaire Elon Musk as “pure evil” after a California judge reopened her dismissed defamation case against Tesla on April 17. Balan, a cancer patient, claimed she was fired in 2014 after raising concerns about a braking issue at the electric vehicle manufacturer.
The drama unfolded when Balan, who worked as a quality engineer at Tesla’s Fremont, California facility, discovered a potential problem with the vehicle’s braking system. She brought her concerns to her superiors, but claims she was met with resistance and ultimately fired for speaking out. Since then, she has been fighting to clear her name and hold Tesla accountable for its actions.
Balan’s defamation case against Tesla was initially dismissed in 2018, but a California judge has now reopened the case, giving her a second chance to prove her allegations. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Balan expressed her outrage and frustration at being silenced by Tesla and its CEO Elon Musk.
“I started this lawsuit to prove my innocence and…how vindictive this monster is,” she said, her voice shaking with emotion. “I’m not a whistleblower for revenge. I’m a whistleblower because I care about the safety of people and the environment. I think Elon Musk is a narcissist and a sociopath, and he will do anything to get what he wants.”
Balan’s allegations against Tesla and Musk are serious, and if proven, could have significant consequences for the company. She claims that Tesla’s Autopilot system, which is designed to assist with steering, acceleration, and braking, is flawed and poses a risk to drivers and passengers. She also alleges that Tesla’s quality control procedures are inadequate, leading to a culture of secrecy and cover-ups.
The reopened defamation case has been a long time coming for Balan, who has been fighting for justice since her firing in 2014. Despite her efforts, she has faced significant challenges, including a lack of support from Tesla and its executives.
“I’ve been fighting this fight for six years, and I’ve been met with silence and hostility from Tesla and its executives,” Balan said. “I’ve been a whistleblower for the sake of the truth, and I won’t stop until the truth comes out.”
Balan’s case is not the first time that Tesla and Musk have faced allegations of wrongdoing. The company has been dogged by controversy over the years, including allegations of workplace harassment, racial discrimination, and environmental concerns.
In recent years, Tesla has faced a series of setbacks, including a fatal crash involving one of its Autopilot-equipped vehicles and a series of recalls over safety issues. The company has also faced criticism over its treatment of workers, including allegations of excessive working hours and poor working conditions.
In the face of these challenges, Balan’s allegations against Musk and Tesla are a potentially devastating blow. If proven, they could lead to significant financial and reputational damage for the company, and raise serious questions about its commitment to safety and ethics.
For Balan, the reopened defamation case is a chance to finally clear her name and hold Tesla accountable for its actions. She is determined to see justice served, and to ensure that her experiences do not happen to others.
“I’m not going away,” she said. “I’m going to keep fighting until the truth comes out, and until Tesla is held accountable for its actions. I’m not a whistleblower for revenge. I’m a whistleblower because I care about the safety of people and the environment.”
